Welcome!

Be a part of something unique!

Enjoy the breadth and depth of learning math in an interdisciplinary way.

Over the course of one school year, this class will study four overarching units to include:

  • Faculties of algebraic thinking
  • Numerical relationships and trends
  • Functions and applications
  • Bridge to future topics/functions of the second and third degree

Algebra I is basically a grammar class for math. Here we get to investigate how logic shows itself in the principle language of the natural world, mathematics. Algebra I is an integral core class because here is where we get to know all kinds of numbers within the real number system as well as their relationships to one another. We then get to use these rules creatively for the rest of your math career. Just like in English, first you learn letters, then words and then how to use them responsibly and creatively to communicate something. We do the same things in math, since it too is a language, and now is your turn to learn it!

Specific topics we'll cover include:

  • Algebraic expressions and equations
  • Concepts of functions
  • Linear and quadratic functions
  • Systems and inequalities
  • Graphing
  • Polynomials

... and much more!

Special Features of the class include...

  • The cost of taking the class includes full management of the curriculum, grading, and textbook administration.
  • Projects and activities that encourage peer-to-peer collaboration.
  • Guided creative problem solving using MATHCOUNTS inspired activities

Pricing:

$1800/semester - This is a year long course.

Mathlogica is set up to direct bill homeschool allotments through IDEA, Raven, and Matsu Central.

The real satisfaction from mathematics is in learning from others and sharing with others. All of us have clear understanding of a few things and a murky concepts of many more. ”
